Where is the app?
Luna Latch lives in the menu bar, near the clock, and has no Dock icon. Click the moon to open it. The tabs at the top switch between Today, Month and Year, and the gear opens Settings.
I can’t see the moon icon
On a MacBook with a notch, a full menu bar can hide icons behind it. Quit another menu bar app to make room, or set a shortcut in Settings to open Luna Latch from the keyboard.
How do I quit?
Right-click the moon icon and choose Quit Luna Latch. The same menu has About Luna Latch.
Notifications don’t arrive
- Turn them on in Luna Latch’s Settings. They’re off until you do.
- If macOS blocked them, allow Luna Latch in System Settings, under Notifications.
- Luna Latch posts them while it’s running, from 7 PM the evening before. Turning on Launch at login keeps it running.
Launch at login doesn’t stick
macOS may ask you to allow Luna Latch first. Open System Settings, then General, then Login Items, and turn Luna Latch on.
Moonrise and moonset are missing
They need a location. In Settings, pick your city from the built-in list or type its coordinates. Luna Latch never uses Location Services.
The moon looks upside down
South of the equator the moon is lit from the other side. Set Hemisphere to Southern in Settings.
